The Album is finally finished! Read on for the back story of the record…
The band started writing the album back in January 2009 and set out to write a record that will fit the needs of every heavy music fan. However, good progress ground to a halt as guitarist Paul was involved in an road traffic accident and was hit but a truck. After a month in intensive care, head surgery and few mended bones the band picked up the pieces and returned to the studio with Paul fit and well.
In June 2009 the band started work on building the new Grindstone Studio’s for Scott Atkins. It was a huge project but was a great opportunity to construct the studio space in which the new record was to be recorded. From the bricks and mortar to the timber and insolation the build took the band all summer to construct. Once the build was complete in September, Scott was able to test out the new facilities and went on to record the new Gama Bomb and Sylosis Albums.
Meanwhile, Romeo went back to finishing all of the pre-production work that was needed on the 13 new tracks. The guide guitar tracks were recorded and Will entered the Grindstone in late October 2009. He went on to track the drums and the band left the studio for the rest of 2009 as they had a headline European tour booked.
Paul and Aaron when back to the studio in February to record the guitars. By the end of April all of the guitars and bass were recorded. At this stage the producer Scott was taken away from the Grindstone to record the new Cradle Of Filth album at MonkeyPuzzle studios so the band went in to a further stage of pre-production and went to work on the final arrangement and vocal structures of the songs. On Scott’s return to the studio the the vocals were recorded followed by the final mix and master.
Finally the Album is done, some 15 months after starting the recording process, some 2 years after the start of the studio build and now it is time for you to hear if it was worth the wait…….
